La Chartreuse de Bontemps
A 17th-century family house, alone in the middle of thirty hectares of woods and meadows.
Five-star rated holiday homeNo neighbours in sight, only the forest
At the end of a lane, away from the roads, the house stands alone in its clearing, as it has since the seventeenth century. Five bedrooms, a pool sheltered from the wind, a tennis court, and the forest of the Périgord pourpre for a horizon. Eleven beds plus a travel cot, up to twelve guests including one baby, without ever meeting a neighbour.
People come here to gather a whole family under one roof. The house is let in its entirety and to you alone, all year round, from three nights: a long weekend in autumn, a full week in summer, a family gathering at Christmas. Nothing is shared, neither the pool, nor the tennis court, nor the drive.
The estate lies in the Crempse valley, in the commune of Issac, eighteen kilometres north of Bergerac and seven from Mussidan. This is the Périgord pourpre, the country of vineyards, bastide towns and markets. A five-star classified holiday rental.
A old Périgord family house
Built in the seventeenth century, the house has kept its proportions, its fireplaces and the grain of its stone. Two kitchens and three bathrooms let a large family share the house without getting in each other's way.
