Stone, tile and open fires

The original proportions, the terracotta floors, the stone fireplaces and the pale blue shutters. Nothing has been erased, everything has been maintained. The bedrooms look out over the grounds, and the dining table seats twelve without an extension. This is a house built for long meals and days spent doing nothing at all.

Built in the seventeenth century and still in the same family, this Périgord house has passed through the generations without being spoilt. The thick walls keep it cool in summer, and the fireplaces take over from autumn onwards. Twelve people can stay without getting in each other's way, each finding a bedroom and a corner of the garden.

It is a large holiday house rather than a place to pass through: you settle in for several days, you cook, you entertain. The five-star holiday rental classification certifies a level of equipment and comfort assessed by an accredited body.

The rooms

Five bedrooms, two kitchens

The house is arranged around a large living room opening onto the grounds. Two kitchens allow two families to cook at the same time, or to separate everyday meals from larger dinners.

Five bedrooms, two of them suites, share eleven beds, with a travel cot for the youngest. Three bathrooms avoid the morning queue, which matters when there are twelve of you. The room-by-room detail is set out below: several rooms can be arranged as a double or as twin beds, depending on whether you come as couples, as friends or with teenagers.
